Project Description
Three community events aim to bring together women from across Southland with the common goal of improving the environment. Phillipa Cameron from ‘What’s for Smoko’ was the first event’s keynote speaker, appealing to a wide range of urban and rural women. The second event featured three speakers – Dan Steele of Blue Duck Station, Kristy McGregor, Publisher and Editor in Chief of Shepherdess magazine, and Kaapua Smith, Head of Sustainability at Contact Energy. The last event will be going back at the grassroots, aiming to inspire, instigate change and create strong networks.
Objectives

- Form a network that allows women to feel empowered to drive change in the community.
Outcomes
- Connect like-minded women and create a support network going forward.
- More women taking lead roles in our Catchment Groups and helping to drive environmental change.
