Environmental Enhancement Fund

This funding assistance is now available for Southlanders working to protect and enhance the region’s native biodiversity. The fund has been boosted by Jobs for Nature, and now provides up to $300,000 per year for the next four years. The increase in funding is part of our Biodiversity Action on the Ground programme, which received $4.25m from the Ministry for the Environment through Jobs for Nature in 2020.

The Stephenson fund for covenant enhancement

The Stephenson Fund was established in 2017 with the overarching objective of providing support for enhanced stewardship of covenants and to enhance our partnerships with covenantors. The fund is named after Gordon and Celia Stephenson, key founders of QEII National Trust (QEII).

Wai Tuwhera o te Taiao – Open Waters Aotearoa | EPA

Wai Tuwhera o te Taiao is a community science programme run by the Environmental Protection Authority. We provide environmental DNA testing kits and resources to community groups, iwi, hapū, schools and kura. This year we received Unlocking Curious Minds funding which enables us to offer up to 1000 eDNA kits to participants to support them to restore, monitor, and explore their waterways.
